Dark Chocolate Bark Bars
Have you ever made your own chocolate? It is so easy! There is really only 3 main ingredients. Well, Kelley Parker, from Big Star Boutique and I made it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted almonds
- 1 cup cocoa butter
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 2/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tb powdered flaxseed
- 1 pinch Pinch of sea salt
Instructions

First, pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees. Then put the almonds on a baking sheet, spread out. Then put them in the oven for 2 minutes on the top rack. Watch them so they don't burn! Take them out and put them to the side. Next, mix the cocoa butter, cocoa powder, salt. vanilla extract and maple syrup together. Melt it in the microwave. It should take about 3 minutes to melt.

In the mean time, prepare your cookie sheet with parchment paper. You are going to transfer the chocolate to this sheet and spread the chocolate out. BUT BEFORE putting the chocolate on the cookie sheet, add the flaxseed mix. If the mixture looks watery, you may need to drain the syrup out. Next, put the chocolate on the cookie sheet. Then take our nuts (or your topping of choice) and press them into the chocolate. The chocolate will naturally spread and become flat. Next, put in freezer for 1 hour. Take it out and break it up into pieces and then put it in a bag or container to store it. I leave mine in the freezer until I am ready to eat it.
