Every now and then I make my husband’s favorite meal – filet mignon, mac and cheese and artichokes. It is one of the easiest meals to make too!

Ingredients
- 3 filet mignon
- 4 whole artichokes
- 1 tb Lawry's Seasoning Salt
- 5 tb butter
- 1 tsp pepper
- 3 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
-
Cook Artichokes: First, fill a large pot with water. Take your artichokes and cut the ends so they sit flat on the plate and so you remove the spiky parts of the leaves. Add 1 tsp garlic and 1 tsp pepper to the water. Turn on high heat and cover. Cook for 30-45 minutes. Then drain the artichokes and serve hot.
-
Cook Filet Mignon: First fire up the BBQ on high. Get it hot! Lay the filets on a dinner dish and sprinkle Lawry's seasoning salt on both sides of the filets. Let them sit and get to room temperature. Once the artichokes are done, put the steaks on the grill. I do 5-7 minutes on each side. I rotate the filet at 3 minutes and flip ONE time. Then rotate at 2 minutes. Filet should be done medium-well. If you want it less pink in the center, leave on the grill. If you want it more pink, then shorten the time on the grill. Put the filet on a plate and cover with foil to sit a moment before cutting into it.
-
Cook Mac and Cheese: I prefer Kraft but you can choose any type! Cook according to the box. *Once the artichokes are done, start boiling water and cooking this side.
-
Put butter and garlic into a small bowl and melt it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. This is a great dip for the artichokes.
